Lately I have been spending a lot of time prepping for the next six months knowing that things could get worse than they are economically.
I have been building a greenhouse, another chicken coop and garden boxes for a garden. We have planted fruit trees, blueberries and strawberries. I have been canning and freezing food as I find great deals.
As I was reading my bible today, I came across the verse where Paul talks about counting everything as a loss to the worth of knowing Christ. As I was pondering on that verse, the Lord brought to my attention a lady I follow on Youtube. She is a Homesteader. Her and her husband have worked so hard prepping their land. They have planted many fruit trees, gardens and have accumulated many farm animals. Well, last night a tornado ripped through their farm. In an instant everything they had worked so hard for and spent their time on was demolished.
In an instant!
So, what is worth our time that never fades, rusts or perishes? Knowing Christ and working for his Kingdom!
The bible says in Matthew 6: 19 – 21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
So I am reminded by Holy Spirit to not neglect the relationship that is the most valuable and full of worth! Knowing Christ is the only thing that is worth investing all our time in!
